Postdoctoral Researcher in Circuit Neuroscience: The German Center for Neurodegenerative Diseases (DZNE), a world-leading research center, is seeking a Postdoctoral Researcher to join the ‘Functional Diversity of Neural Circuits Lab’ led by Dr. Sabine Krabbe. The researcher will contribute to a project studying the impact of amygdala circuit dysfunction on early psychiatric symptoms related to neurodegeneration. The position involves cutting-edge circuit neuroscience techniques, including in vivo deep-brain calcium imaging in behaving mice, along with molecular and histological approaches.

Eligibility/Qualification:
- PhD in natural/life sciences or related fields (or in the final stages of submitting the thesis)
- Essential: Enthusiasm for systems neuroscience research; prior experience with in vivo functional imaging or electrophysiology; good data analysis and programming skills (e.g., Python, Matlab); collaborative mindset, good communication skills, and English language proficiency
- Beneficial: Prior experience with mouse behavior, rodent models of neurodegenerative disorders, and/or transcriptomics
Job Description: The successful candidate will work on a project within the Neurodegeneration Challenge Network of the Chan Zuckerberg Initiative, using cutting-edge techniques to investigate amygdala circuit dysfunction in the context of neurodegenerative diseases. The role includes in vivo deep-brain calcium imaging, molecular and histological techniques, and collaboration within an international, collaborative research environment.
