Eligibility/Qualification

  • Required:
    • PhD or nearing completion in Chemistry, Chemical Engineering, Physics, Food Science, or a closely related discipline.
    • Strong background in crystallization and soft matter.
    • Experience with material science characterization techniques (e.g., X-ray techniques, confocal microscopy, electron microscopy, DSC).
    • Proven track record of peer-reviewed publications.
    • Excellent English written and verbal communication skills.
  • Preferred:
    • Experience in pursuing external funding for research.
    • Knowledge in crystallography or crystal engineering.

Job Description

The successful candidate will:

  • Characterize various fat mixtures using analytical techniques such as chromatography, NMR, and differential scanning calorimetry.
  • Determine the crystallization behavior of fat mixtures using X-ray scattering techniques, polarized and Raman confocal microscopy.
  • Analyze X-ray data to infer the structural features of different polymorphs formed in specific fat mixtures.
  • Develop thermodynamic models to describe the crystallization behavior of complex fat mixtures.
  • Generate and pursue independent research ideas and objectives.
  • Prepare research papers for publication and disseminate research results.
  • Collaborate with an international research team and engage with academic and industrial partners.
  • Contribute to the training of undergraduate and postgraduate students.
