Job Description: The postdoctoral researcher will contribute to the BEHAVING project, which aims to combine behavior, contacts, risk, and infectious disease models. The focus includes developing new questionnaires, using questionnaire data from various studies at RIVM, and incorporating psychosocial determinants of behavior into mathematical models for infectious disease transmission.

Key Responsibilities:

  • Build individual-based transmission models for sexually transmitted infections (STI) and measles.
  • Utilize behavioral survey data to inform population models for STI transmission.
  • Use data on vaccine uptake and psychosocial determinants for an individual-based network model of schools and households for measles transmission.
  • Analyze how behavioral data affects transmission dynamics in the models.
  • Study the effects of interventions on transmission for both infections.
  • Collaborate with a multidisciplinary team of behavioural scientists, epidemiologists, statisticians, and mathematical modellers.
  • Publish research results in peer-reviewed journals and present at international conferences.
