Postdoctoral Researcher in DNA Analysis: The Faculty of Archaeology, Leiden University, is seeking a postdoctoral researcher to join the ERC-funded project WILDERFARM. The researcher will focus on human-wildlife relationships during the Mesolithic-Neolithic transition using sedimentary DNA analysis. They will also assist in public outreach, data management, and laboratory work.

Eligibility/Qualification:
- A Ph.D. in (palaeo)genomics, archaeology, ecology, or a related field, with demonstrable experience in DNA analysis.
- Enthusiasm for archaeology and interdisciplinary research.
- Excellent organizational skills (experience with lab work is an advantage).
- Enthusiasm for public outreach.
- Ability to work in a team.
- Strong communication skills and excellent command of English.
- Willingness to travel. A driver’s license is considered an advantage.
Job Description:
- Collect samples for sedimentary DNA analyses from archaeological excavations.
- Analyze sedaDNA data and build hypotheses on animal populations and human activity.
- Assist in coordinating laboratory work and data management.
- Contribute to public outreach and overall project aims.
- Publish articles in peer-reviewed journals and present at conferences.
- Collaborate with WILDERFARM team members.
