Job Description

- 📊 Develop a novel ecological macroeconomic model incorporating well-being and environmental sustainability indicators

- 🌐 Focus on “post-growth” approaches due to GDP growth’s diminishing impact on people’s lives in wealthy nations and exacerbating ecological crises
Candidate Qualifications
- 🎓 PhD in ecological economics, environmental studies, natural/social sciences, etc.
- 📈 Expertise in quantitative research methods and/or computer programming essential
- 📚 Desirable knowledge areas: well-being, planetary boundaries, input–output analysis, system dynamics, machine learning, material flow analysis
- 🔄 Advantageous: Experience with ecological macroeconomic models like PyMedeas, EuroGreen, or LowGrow SFC
- 🌟 Valued qualities: Motivation, initiative, critical thinking, problem-solving, professional writing, ability to work in an international team
Details on the Position
- 📅 Available to start as soon as possible, ideally by 1st May 2024
- ⏳ Approximately two years, dependent on the start date
- 🎓 Completion of a PhD by the contract start date is required
- 📍 Based at the Faculty of Economics, University of Barcelona, under Dan O’Neill and Federico Demaria’s supervision
