Eligibility/Qualification

Required

  • PhD in environmental science, chemistry, biogeochemistry, hydrology, or a related field
  • Experience in environmental data analysis
  • Interest in experimental and field-based research

Preferred

  • Experience in contaminant analysis (LC-MS/MS, HRMS)
  • Knowledge of stable isotope techniques
  • Background in aquatic biogeochemistry or microbial processes
  • Programming skills (R, Python)

Soft Skills

Job Description

The postdoctoral researcher will contribute to a comprehensive approach that includes:

  • Participation in field campaigns at FPV sites in Europe and Africa
  • Measurement and analysis of physicochemical parameters such as oxygen levels, temperature, and nutrients
  • Analysis of contaminants using advanced techniques (LC-MS/MS, HRMS) and stable isotopes
  • Designing and executing laboratory experiments (mesocosms) to replicate FPV conditions
  • Data analysis to identify key biogeochemical processes and contribution to simplified modeling approaches
  • Scientific dissemination through publications and conferences
