Eligibility/Qualification:
- PhD in Biochemistry, Biotechnology, Synthetic Biology, Microbiology, or a related discipline.
- Practical experience in:
- Heterologous protein production
- Purification and characterization using spectrophotometric or LC-MS-based assays.
- Background in enzyme engineering through:
- Targeted or random mutagenesis
- High-throughput screening
- Directed evolution
- Growth coupling
- Knowledge of enzyme structure analysis via crystallography or cryo-EM techniques is advantageous.
- Interest in metabolic engineering and synthetic biology.
- Ability to work collaboratively in an international project with readiness for travel.

The successful candidate will focus on characterizing and engineering enzymes aimed at the efficient conversion of single-carbon feedstocks. Responsibilities include:
- Performing biochemical characterization of naturally occurring enzymes.
- Improving enzyme properties via diverse approaches, including:
- Structure-based mutagenesis

- Directed evolution.
