Postdoctoral Researcher in Epigenetics: Applications are invited for a position of postdoc in the laboratory of DNRF Chair and Novo Nordisk Faculty Professor Vijay Tiwari at the University of Southern Denmark. This role focuses on leading research in gene regulatory mechanisms related to development and disease, employing cutting-edge molecular biology and computational biology methods.

Location: Odense, Denmark

Eligibility/Qualification:

  • Essential Qualifications:
  • PhD in molecular biology, epigenetics, chromatin biology, genomics, cancer biology, biochemistry, developmental biology, or related fields.
  • At least one first-author publication, accepted or submitted.
  • Strong analytical, organizational, and record-keeping skills.
  • Proficient in computer skills, including MS Office and research software programs.
  • Ability to work in a multidisciplinary and multicultural team.
  • Desired Qualifications:
  • Basic understanding of epigenetics and gene regulation.
  • Experience in cell culture and advanced molecular biology techniques.
  • Familiarity with organoids/spheroids and mouse models.
  • Experience with perturbation-based functional analysis (e.g., shRNA, CRISPR-Cas9).
  • Knowledge of immunostaining, advanced imaging techniques (e.g., confocal microscopy), and basic bioinformatics.

Job Description:

  • Lead research on gene regulatory mechanisms in development and disease.
  • Employ state-of-the-art methods in epigenetics including histone modifications and transcription factor binding assays.
  • Design and support complex molecular biology protocols.
  • Conduct in vitro and in vivo experiments as necessary.
  • Collaborate with a diverse range of colleagues and researchers.
  • Support research activities and assist in the daily operations of the laboratory.
  • Train new group members and maintain detailed records of research activities.
  • Engage in teaching as required.
