Post-doctoral Position in Italy

Postdoctoral Researcher in Epigenetics and Bioinformatics: The Cantone Laboratory at the Department of Molecular Medicine and Medical Biotechnology (University Federico II of Naples) is seeking a highly motivated Postdoctoral Researcher. This is a full-time position for two years, focused on investigating chromatin-mediated epigenetic mechanisms underlying the sex bias in human autoimmune diseases. The selected candidate will analyze various omics datasets, including Cut&Run, RAPseq, and single-cell transcriptomes, using existing bioinformatics pipelines and developing new ones.

Designation: Postdoctoral Researcher

Research Area: Epigenetics, Bioinformatics, Computational Biology

Location: University Federico II of Naples, Italy

Eligibility/Qualification:

  • MSc/PhD in a relevant discipline (e.g., Bioinformatics, Computational Biology, Life Sciences)
  • Proficiency in at least one programming language (preferably R or Python) and experience with data processing pipelines
  • Strong problem-solving, organizational, and collaborative skills
  • Ability to work in a highly cooperative research environment
  • Good publication record
  • Fluency in written and spoken English

Job Description:
The Postdoctoral Researcher will work on determining the impact of escape or reactivation from X chromosome inactivation on the sex bias of autoimmune reactions in Multiple Sclerosis. The candidate will also identify the underlying chromatin and epigenetic factors, leveraging preliminary single-cell analyses and established functional assays. The research will contribute to the understanding of fundamental mechanisms of epigenetic gene regulation, using X chromosome inactivation as a model system.

How to Apply:
Interested candidates should submit the following documents:

  1. Cover letter
  2. Curriculum Vitae (including education, experience, previous employment, language proficiency, and relevant skills)
  3. List of publications

Applications should be sent directly to Dr. Cantone at ins.cantone@unina.it.
