- Investigate drivers of sex chromosome turnover and the evolution of recombination landscapes.
- Engage in field sampling and basic molecular lab work.
- Utilize long-read genome assembly and population genomics techniques.
Additionally, you may have opportunities to incorporate cytogenetics and/or evo-devo approaches into your research.
Eligibility/Qualification
- PhD in evolutionary biology, genomics, bioinformatics, or a closely related field.
- Expertise in evolutionary/population genomics, with a strong interest in sex chromosomes and recombination.
- Experience in analyzing high-throughput sequencing data, particularly in genome assembly or comparative genomics.
- Proficiency in programming languages such as Python and/or R, and familiarity with reproducible workflows.
