  • Assemble and analyze genomes of frogs with a focus on sex determination systems.
  • Perform comparative genomics across various anuran lineages.
  • Investigate drivers of sex chromosome turnover and the evolution of recombination landscapes.
  • Engage in field sampling and basic molecular lab work.
  • Utilize long-read genome assembly and population genomics techniques.

Additionally, you may have opportunities to incorporate cytogenetics and/or evo-devo approaches into your research.

Eligibility/Qualification

  • PhD in evolutionary biology, genomics, bioinformatics, or a closely related field.
  • Expertise in evolutionary/population genomics, with a strong interest in sex chromosomes and recombination.
  • Experience in analyzing high-throughput sequencing data, particularly in genome assembly or comparative genomics.
  • Proficiency in programming languages such as Python and/or R, and familiarity with reproducible workflows.
  • Fieldwork experience is preferred.
