Eligibility/Qualification

  • A very good Master’s degree in biology, forest sciences, bioinformatics, or related fields
  • Completed Ph.D. in forest genetics or a closely related area
  • Experience in analyzing genomic data, particularly RNAseq and whole-genome sequencing
  • Lab work experience (e.g., DNA/RNA extractions); experience with qPCR analysis is ideal
  • Proficiency in bioinformatics and Unix environments; experience with R is required, knowledge of Python is a plus
  • Ability to work independently and collaboratively in diverse teams
  • Excellent teaching skills with good to very good evaluations
  • Fluent in English; good knowledge of German is advantageous

Description

The successful candidate will join a dynamic research team to explore adaptation processes in tree species. Responsibilities include independent research, teaching (four semester hours per week), and support in ongoing research projects. The position offers the chance to establish a unique profile in forest genetics and contribute to significant projects, including the Cluster of Excellence “Future Forests.”
