Eligibility/Qualification
- Required:
- PhD or equivalent foreign degree in Bioinformatics, Statistics, Genetics, or related fields (must be completed by the time the employment decision is made).
- Proven ability to conduct quality research.
- Pedagogical capabilities.
- Proficiency in R and/or Python, statistical knowledge, and experience with large datasets.
- Familiarity with Bash/Linux.
- Excellent command of English (both spoken and written).
- Self-motivated, collaborative, structured, independent, and analytical.
- Meritorious:
- Degree completed within three years of the application deadline.
- At least two first-author publications.
- Knowledge of biology and genetics.
- Experience with family-based analyses.
Job Description
The postdoctoral position will apply high-throughput data from large cohorts and RNA sequencing to investigate type 2 diabetes (T2D) pathogenesis and early life programming. Responsibilities include:
- Conducting methodological and collaborative research in diabetes genetics and genomics.
- Developing statistical models and machine learning methods for prognosis and therapeutic biomarker development.
- Writing bioinformatics methodology manuscripts and maintaining software packages.
- Participation in teaching, supervision, and other academic activities.
