Eligibility/Qualification

  • Required:
  • PhD or equivalent foreign degree in Bioinformatics, Statistics, Genetics, or related fields (must be completed by the time the employment decision is made).
  • Proven ability to conduct quality research.
  • Pedagogical capabilities.
  • Proficiency in R and/or Python, statistical knowledge, and experience with large datasets.
  • Familiarity with Bash/Linux.
  • Excellent command of English (both spoken and written).
  • Self-motivated, collaborative, structured, independent, and analytical.
  • Meritorious:
  • Degree completed within three years of the application deadline.
  • At least two first-author publications.
  • Knowledge of biology and genetics.
  • Experience with family-based analyses.

Job Description

The postdoctoral position will apply high-throughput data from large cohorts and RNA sequencing to investigate type 2 diabetes (T2D) pathogenesis and early life programming. Responsibilities include:

  • Conducting methodological and collaborative research in diabetes genetics and genomics.
  • Developing statistical models and machine learning methods for prognosis and therapeutic biomarker development.
  • Writing bioinformatics methodology manuscripts and maintaining software packages.
  • Participation in teaching, supervision, and other academic activities.
