Postdoctoral Researcher in Genomics: The Biotech Research & Innovation Centre (BRIC) at the University of Copenhagen is seeking a motivated postdoctoral researcher for a 3-year position, starting from April 15, 2026. The successful candidate will work on the A-SOuRCCE project, focusing on developing advanced AI frameworks for interpreting single-cell genomic data.

Research Area:

The position operates at the intersection of genomics, molecular biology, and artificial intelligence, focusing on single-cell datasets and gene regulatory mechanisms relating to cancer and cardiovascular diseases.

Eligibility/Qualification:

Essential Skills:

  • PhD in machine learning, data science, genomics, or related fields.
  • Proficiency in computational biology tools and data analysis.
  • Experience in statistical analysis and coding in at least one programming language.
  • Solid English communication skills (written and spoken).
  • At least one high-impact first-author publication or preprint.

Desirable Skills:

  • Knowledge of biological networks (gene regulation, protein interactions).
  • Experience with knowledge graphs/ontologies (e.g., Neo4j, RDF).
  • Familiarity with human genetics and functional genomics.
  • Interest in Large Language Models and knowledge extraction.

Job Description:

You will act as the Knowledge Graphs in Genomics architect, leading the design and implementation of the Federated Disease Knowledge Graph (FDKG). Responsibilities include:

  • Creating a federated knowledge graph system.
  • Implementing workflows to integrate new literature findings.
  • Developing a module for assessing the “Impact Score” of novel findings based on population genetics.
