Postdoctoral Researcher in Immunology: The CAMS Oxford Institute seeks a highly motivated Postdoctoral Research Scientist to investigate the role of lipid-reactive T cells and lipid antigens in immune responses following Group A Streptococcus (GAS) infection, with implications for autoimmune diseases like post-streptococcal glomerulonephritis (PSGN).
Designation
Postdoctoral Research Scientist
Research Area
Immunology, specifically focusing on lipid-reactive T cells and lipid antigens related to GAS infection.
Location
CAMS Oxford Institute, Building for Molecular Physiology, Roosevelt Drive, Old Road Campus, Oxford, OX3 7BN, UK
Eligibility/Qualification
- A PhD/DPhil (or close to completion) in immunology or a related field.
- Hands-on expertise in in vitro functional immunological assays (e.g., T cell activation assays, co-culture systems).
- Experience with cytokine profiling techniques (ELISA, multiplex bead arrays).
- Proficient in multicolour flow cytometry and analyzing data from single-cell & spatial RNA/TCR-seq experiments.
- Strong record-keeping skills, careful methodological work, and the ability to meet deadlines.
Job Description
The successful candidate will be responsible for:
- Development, design, and execution of experiments focusing on the molecular characteristics of immune cells in lipid presentation pathways.
- Application of cutting-edge immunological and transcriptomic techniques, including multicolour flow cytometry and in vitro T cell functional assays.
- Collaborating with colleagues, research assistants, and students, providing scientific and workplace guidance.
- Contributing to the fundamental understanding of immune responses and promoting translational/preclinical development.
