Job Description:
The candidate will work within the “Machine Learning for Hydrological Systems and Earth Systems” research group, focusing on an integrated modeling framework that combines process-based hydrological models and ecosystem dynamics modeling with hybrid machine learning tools. Responsibilities include:
- Developing and applying integrated modeling systems to study subsurface hydrology, vegetation water consumption, and ecosystem responses.
- Analyzing and assimilating spatially resolved datasets (e.g., satellite observations) to enhance model accuracy and predictive capabilities.
- Investigating how topography and subsurface hydrological processes mediate the impacts of climate change on vegetation dynamics and the water cycle.
- Disseminating research findings through peer-reviewed publications and presentations at international conferences.
- Supervising PhD students to support their academic and professional development.
