Designation
Postdoctoral Researcher
Research Area
Molecular mechanisms of melanoma metastasis and therapy response, with a focus on brain metastasis, immunotherapy resistance, and tumor microenvironment remodeling.
Location
Institute for Biomedical Research, Sols-Morreale (IBM, CSIC-UAM), located in the Campus of International Excellence UAM-CSIC, Spain.
Eligibility/Qualification
- Essential:
- Ph.D. in Biosciences/Biomedicine.
- Solid background in cancer biology and immunology.
- Proficiency in English with strong communication skills.
- Preferred:
- Expertise in cell culture (2D and 3D), flow cytometry, and animal work.
- Experience in bioinformatics or computation (e.g., multi-omics or image analysis).
- Data scientists or computational biologists with an interest in translational research.
Job Description
The selected candidate will:
- Study melanoma cell mechanisms that remodel the tumor microenvironment to colonize the brain and evade anti-tumor immune responses.
- Utilize unique melanoma mouse models, brain metastatic cell lines, and single-cell derived clonal sublines.
- Apply advanced techniques such as multi-omics (whole exome sequencing, RNAseq, scRNAseq), Spatial Transcriptomics, HiPlex RNA-FISH, and therapeutic studies in vivo.
- Collaborate with interdisciplinary experts in neurosciences, imaging, and metabolomics, as well as international data scientists from the Cancer Data Science Lab (CDSL) at NIH, USA.
