Postdoctoral Researcher in Microbial Ecology: ETH Zurich’s Global Microbial Ecology Group in the Crowther Lab is seeking an outstanding Postdoctoral Researcher to lead a global-scale analysis of plant invasion, focusing on the role of mycorrhizal filtering. Additionally, the researcher will participate in a collaborative effort across Europe and the Tropics to study the restoration of the belowground microbiome in ecosystems. The position involves metabarcoding, large dataset analysis, publishing findings, and coordinating team communications.

Eligibility/Qualification:

  • Ph.D. in ecology, biology, or a related field.

  • Strong publication record.

Job Description: The postdoctoral researcher will lead a global-scale analysis of plant invasion, focusing on the role of mycorrhizal filtering, and participate in a collaborative effort to track the restoration of the belowground microbiome in ecosystems. The work involves metabarcoding, analysis of large datasets, publishing related findings, and coordinating team communications. The initial contract is for one year, with the possibility of extension for a second year based on evaluation. The preferred start date is by or before April 1, 2024.
