Eligibility/Qualification

  • PhD in Bioinformatics, Microbial Biology and Genomics, Quantitative Genetics, or a related field.
  • Experience in genomic sequence data processing, metagenomics analysis, and computational genomics (association studies, AI-based sequence analysis).
  • Published research in international peer-reviewed journals, particularly in genomics and food production.
  • Expertise in bacterial or yeast genomics is highly desirable.
  • Good communication skills in English and ability to work in an interdisciplinary team.

Job Description

As a Postdoctoral Researcher, you will:

  • Analyze the evolution of bacterial and yeast genomes during domestication for plant-based kefir production (adaptive laboratory evolution).
  • Conduct genome sequencing, metagenome analysis, and genome-wide association studies to characterize genomic evolution.
  • Connect genomic traits to desirable characteristics for plant-based food production, utilizing advanced research techniques including bioinformatics and AI.
