Eligibility/Qualification: We seek a highly motivated and team-oriented postdoctoral researcher with a background in neuroscience and a keen interest in mitochondrial biology. The ideal candidate will have:
- A Ph.D. in a relevant field or a foreign degree deemed equivalent
- Documented experience in high-resolution fluorescence imaging
- Proficiency in imaging analysis software such as ImageJ and Imaris
- Advantageous experience in proteomic analysis
- Expertise in primary cell culture, mice manipulation, and virus injections are merits
- Fluency in written and spoken English
Job Description: The successful candidate will join our research group focused on investigating the role of mitochondria and energy metabolism in neurodegeneration, particularly Alzheimer’s disease. Responsibilities include:
- Conducting spatial-resolved proteomic and imaging mapping of mitochondria in astrocytes from Alzheimer’s disease models
- Investigating mitochondrial membrane dynamics and identifying new regulators relevant to neurodegeneration processes
- Utilizing 2-D and 3-D cocultures, proteomics, confocal, and super-resolution microscopy, along with high-resolution respirometry
- Collaborating within the research group to achieve common goals and advance research interests
- Providing support in experimental design and execution to other group members
