Postdoctoral Researcher in Optical Spectroscopy: We are seeking a highly motivated postdoctoral researcher to join an EU-funded project at Chalmers University of Technology, focusing on the spectroscopic characterization of advanced photochromic probes for fluorescence microscopy. This project involves collaboration with leading institutions across Europe and offers an inspiring environment in the coastal city of Gothenburg, Sweden.
Designation: Postdoctoral Researcher
Research Area:
Optical Spectroscopy, Fluorescence Microscopy, Photochromic Probes, Molecular Photoswitches
Location:
Chalmers University of Technology, Gothenburg, Sweden
Eligibility/Qualification:
- Education: PhD in physical chemistry, biochemistry, biophysical chemistry, or a related field. The PhD degree must have been awarded no more than three years prior to the application deadline.
- Experience: Expertise in absorption and fluorescence spectroscopy, including steady-state and time-resolved techniques such as time-resolved single-photon counting (TR-SPC).
- Skills: Strong written and spoken communication skills in English.
- Desirable Qualifications: Postdoctoral experience, experience with molecular photoswitches, and knowledge of energy transfer studies (e.g., FRET reactions).
Job Description:
The successful candidate will be responsible for the spectroscopic characterization of photochromic compounds used in fluorescence microscopy. Key responsibilities include performing absorption and fluorescence spectroscopy in both steady-state and time-resolved modes. You will work closely with multidisciplinary teams from the University of Gothenburg, University of Huelva, and KU Leuven.
How to Apply:
Applications should be submitted electronically via the Chalmers University website, marked with reference number 20240545. Please submit the following documents in PDF format (maximum size for each file: 40 MB):
- CV (include a complete list of publications, previous teaching/pedagogical experiences, and contact details for two references).
- Personal letter (1-3 pages describing your background, research experience, and future goals).
