Eligibility/Qualification

  • PhD in relevant experimental fields such as quantum optics, AMO physics, advanced laser spectroscopy, or interferometry, including ultra-fast methods.
  • Strong hands-on skills in experimental research, particularly in optics labs, including automation of data acquisition and data analysis.
  • Proven track record of research publications in the aforementioned fields.
  • Excellent communication skills (fluent in English) and strong collaborative abilities.
  • Highly motivated to conduct fundamental research.
  • Finnish language proficiency is not required.

Job Description

The successful candidate will lead experimental efforts within the Macroscopic Quantum Optics (MQO) Group, collaborating with a team of PhD and master’s students. Key responsibilities include:

  • Conducting cutting-edge research in cavity quantum optomechanics and exploring vibrational degrees of freedom within light-matter BECs.
  • Collaborating with theorists and industry partners worldwide to advance research.
  • Leading preparation of research manuscripts for publication in top-tier journals and acting as the corresponding author.
  • Contributing to grant writing and research management within the team.
  • Developing new methodologies for the control over light-matter BEC.
