Postdoctoral Researcher in Parasite Biology: The Max Planck Institute for Infection Biology (MPIIB) in Berlin is seeking a dedicated Postdoctoral Researcher to join the Lise Meitner Research Group led by Silvia Portugal. This full-time position is initially limited to 3 years and focuses on the innovative MOSEPIC project, aiming to develop serological surveillance tools for epidemic preparedness using mosquitoes as bio-samplers in Africa.

Eligibility/Qualification
- PhD in Immunology, Virology, Molecular Biology, Epidemiology, or a related field
- Proven publication record in peer-reviewed journals
- Hands-on experience in developing and troubleshooting bead-based serological assays
- Experience in mentoring junior researchers and leading projects
- Strong computational skills for data analysis and visualization
- Good communication skills in English and French
- Ability to work independently and as part of a multicultural team
Job Description
- Lead the design, optimization, and validation of a novel multiplex serological assay
- Develop Standard Operating Procedures (SOPs) and lead training workshops across MOSEPIC partner sites in Africa
- Serve as central technical lead, coordinating the implementation of the assay
- Mentor junior researchers and publish methodological and epidemiological findings
- Contribute to grant writing and assist in project management and partner coordination
