Postdoctoral Researcher in Phage-Bacteria Interactions: Lund University is seeking a highly motivated Postdoctoral Researcher to join our pioneering research team in phage-bacteria interactions, focusing on the molecular mechanisms of antiphage defense. This position is part of the EU cofund research project AMBER and offers a unique opportunity to work at the cutting edge of molecular biology and structural biology.

Eligibility/Qualification:

  • A doctoral degree (PhD) in molecular biology, biochemistry, structural biology, or a related field, awarded within the last 8 years.
  • Track record of at least one original publication in a peer-reviewed journal.
  • Proficiency in spoken and written English.
  • Experience in molecular biology techniques including, but not limited to, molecular cloning and immunoblotting.
  • Competence in at least one key interdisciplinary approach: phage microbiology, biochemistry, or structural biology (preferably cryo-EM or structural bioinformatics).
  • Strong organizational and independent working skills with good interpersonal abilities.

Job Description:

The successful candidate will be responsible for:

  • Conducting high-quality research aimed at uncovering the molecular workings of novel antiphage defense systems.
  • Utilizing an integrated structure-functional approach combining phage microbiology, biochemistry, and structural biology.
  • Contributing to the development of project goals within the AMBER initiative, alongside mentorship from esteemed researchers in the field.

Teaching responsibilities may be included but will not exceed 20% of the workload. Successful candidates will also participate in three weeks of university pedagogical training.
