Eligibility/Qualification:
- Must hold a doctoral degree or a foreign equivalent deemed comparable to a Swedish doctoral degree.
- Applications are preferred from individuals who have completed their doctoral degree within the last three years.
- Experience in forward and reverse genetic screens, CRISPRi, molecular cloning, basic biochemistry, phage recombineering, virology/phage biology techniques.
- Knowledge of Python/R/bash/unix is an advantage.
- Prior experience with Mycobacteria and Pseudomonas is a plus.
- Hands-on experience in proteomics sample preparation or data analysis is desirable but not mandatory.
Job Description:
As a Postdoctoral Researcher in the Fossati lab, your responsibilities will include:
- Applying and developing genetic screenings to enhance phage efficacy using genetic engineering.
- Characterizing phage genes influencing clinical efficacy against bacterial pathogens using interaction proteomics.
- Engineering ‘super-phages’ with increased efficacy against clinical isolates.
- Leading project design and management, overseeing data generation, conducting analyses, and providing insights.
- Collaborating with team members, other research groups, and participating in scientific communication activities.
