The selected candidate will contribute to cutting-edge research in bacterial antiphage systems and will have the opportunity to be part of the KI-SciLifeLab Clinical Translational Postdoc Program.

Eligibility/Qualification:
- Applicants must hold a doctoral degree or a foreign degree deemed equivalent to a Swedish doctoral degree.
- Preference will be given to candidates who have completed their doctoral degree within the last three years.
- Expertise in forward and reverse genetic screens, CRISPRi, molecular cloning, basic biochemistry, phage recombineering, and virology/phage biology techniques is required.
- Prior experience with Mycobacteria and Pseudomonas, knowledge of Python/R/bash/unix, and hands-on experience in proteomics sample preparation or data analysis are considered advantageous.
Job Description:
The selected candidate will work within the area of phage biology and phage engineering with a focus on augmentation of phage efficacy using genetic engineering. Responsibilities include applying and developing novel genetic screenings, characterizing phage genes, and engineering ‘super-phages’ displaying increased efficacy against clinical isolates. The postdoctoral researcher will play a pivotal role in project design and management, oversee data generation, conduct analyses, and provide insightful interpretations. Collaboration with fellow team members and other groups at KI/SciLifeLab will be a key aspect of the role. The successful candidate will be responsible for disseminating scientific findings through research papers, active participation in scientific conferences, and effective communication with colleagues.
