Eligibility/Qualification:
- PhD in Population Genetics, Evolutionary Comparative Genomics, Genome Analysis, Bioinformatics, or related fields.
- Proficiency in Python and/or Perl, along with experience in computational analysis and management of large nucleotide sequence datasets (both short-read and long-read).
- Excellent oral and written communication skills (C1 level in both German and English, or C2 level in English).
- First or senior authorship on at least one peer-reviewed scientific publication.
- Strong motivation for scientific research, creativity, analytical thinking, and independent working style.
- Excellent background in (population) genetics.
Job Description:
- Conduct computational analyses of nucleotide sequence data in combination with environmental and/or phenotype parameters.
- Perform population genomics studies, including demographic analyses, genome-wide selection scans, and structural variation analysis.
- Contribute to genome assembly, annotation, and regulatory co-expression network analyses.
- Publish research findings and present them at scientific conferences.
- Teach and supervise students, from undergraduate to doctoral levels.
- Manage computational resources and collaborate in interdisciplinary research teams.
- Assist in securing third-party funding for research projects.
