Eligibility/Qualification:
- PhD degree in biology or a related field
- Background in population genetics, molecular anthropology, or bioinformatics
- Experience in genome-wide polymorphism analysis to infer demographic patterns, selection processes, or genome-wide association studies (experience with machine learning is a plus)
- A strong interest in human prehistory, linguistics, and genetic diversity of humans and plants
- Proficiency in English
Job Description:
As a Postdoctoral Researcher, you will:
- Contribute to genetic studies focusing on human and plant diversity within the framework of the NCCR Evolving Language project.
- Collaborate across disciplines to explore gene-language coevolution and the spread of language families alongside farming and crops.
- Engage in both global-scale genomic data analysis and localized case studies.
- Work under the supervision of Prof. Dr. Kentaro Shimizu and collaborate with distinguished researchers from various academic domains.
