Postdoctoral Researcher in Protein Metabolism: The International Institute for Molecular and Cell Biology (IIMCB) in Warsaw is seeking a highly motivated and creative Postdoctoral Researcher to join the Laboratory of Protein Metabolism. The successful candidate will contribute to groundbreaking research on how proteins adapt to evade premature degradation by the ubiquitin-proteasome system under the guidance of Prof. Wojciech Pokrzywa.

Eligibility/Qualification

  • PhD in Biology, Biotechnology, Genetics, Biochemistry, Biophysics, or a related field.
  • Strong publication record demonstrating expertise relevant to the project.
  • Experience in molecular biology and biochemical techniques.
  • Familiarity with computational approaches for data analysis is a plus.
  • Expertise in cell cultures or model organisms is advantageous.
  • Excellent communication skills in English, both written and oral.

Job Description

The Postdoctoral Researcher will be responsible for:

  • Designing and conducting experiments related to ubiquitin signaling and protein degradation.
  • Utilizing mass spectrometry, proteomics approaches, and advanced imaging techniques for protein interaction studies.
  • Proposing and testing novel research hypotheses to drive project development.
  • Preparing manuscripts, presenting results at scientific meetings, and contributing to funding applications.
  • Collaborating with team members and mentoring junior researchers.

The researcher will engage in diverse aspects of the project, leveraging molecular biology, cell biology, biochemistry, proteomics, and advanced imaging techniques. There will also be opportunities to explore side projects related to proteostasis.
