Eligibility/Qualification:

  • PhD or foreign degree equivalent to a Swedish PhD, ideally completed within the last three years.
  • Strong background in cancer biology, molecular biology, and microbiology.
  • Proven publication record.
  • Very good command of the English language (written and spoken).
  • Ability to work both independently and collaboratively.
  • Experience in basic bioinformatics is required; experience in cancer metabolism and model systems is meritorious.

Job Description:

The successful applicant will:

  • Investigate the tumorigenicity of specific metabolites in cancer through both in vitro and in vivo models.
  • Perform various cell biology and omics experiments, combined with creative biochemistry and molecular biology approaches.
  • Generate and validate experimental targets and mechanisms of microbes and metabolites influencing cancer growth.
  • Collaborate with the research team, supervise students, write papers and grants, and present findings at meetings.
