Postdoctoral Position in ICFO

Postdoctoral Researcher in Quantum Nano-Optoelectronics: ICFO is seeking a highly motivated and dynamic postdoctoral researcher to join the Quantum Nano-Optoelectronics group, led by Prof. Dr. Frank Koppens. The successful candidate will focus on designing graphene-based terahertz receivers and evaluating speed and bit transfer rates, contributing to cutting-edge advancements in nanotechnology and optoelectronics within a stimulating research environment.

Location: ICFO – The Institute of Photonic Sciences, Barcelona, Spain

Eligibility/Qualification:

  • Ph.D. (or evidence of near completion) in Physics or Engineering, or a related field.
  • Proven expertise and track record in graphene-based detectors and data communications applications.
  • Demonstrated ability to conduct independent research and work collaboratively within a research group.

Job Description:

  • Design and develop graphene-based terahertz receivers.
  • Evaluate performance metrics such as speed and bit transfer rate.
  • Collaborate with an interdisciplinary team to advance the group’s research objectives.
  • Publish high-impact research results in leading scientific journals.
  • Participate in conferences, workshops, and other academic activities as required.

Funding Details: This position is funded by MCIN/AEI/10.13039/501100011033 and the European Union NextGenerationEU/PRTR.

Employment Conditions:

  • Contract duration: 1 year, with the possibility of extension based on performance and funding.
  • Salary range: Competitive and commensurate with experience, aligned with national Ramon-y-Cajal fellowships or Marie SkÅ‚odowska-Curie individual fellowships.
  • Family allowance: Available upon request and approval for candidates with family responsibilities.
