Eligibility/Qualification:

  • A PhD degree in a suitable field
  • Proven track record in experimental research in related topics
  • Experience in cleanroom microfabrication
  • Strong interest in micromechanical systems
  • Excellent teamwork skills
  • Experience with cryogenics and dilution refrigerators is beneficial
  • Strong theoretical understanding of the studied phenomena is considered an asset
  • Proficiency in English is required; Finnish language is not necessary

Job Description:

The selected candidate will engage in experimental research within two main projects:

  1. Gravitational Coupling Between Nonclassical Masses: Aiming to measure gravitational forces within a quantum system using mechanical oscillators and milligram masses.
  2. Remote Connection and Strong Coupling in Coherent Electromechanics: Focusing on the interaction between micromechanical membrane oscillators and microwave cavity resonators for studies in remote entanglement, quantum teleportation, and force detection.

Responsibilities include:

  • Designing samples and measurement setups
  • Performing cleanroom fabrication and cryogenic microwave measurements
  • Conducting data analysis
  • Mentoring and advising PhD students
