Eligibility/Qualification:
- Doctoral degree in mechanical engineering, civil engineering, electrical engineering, materials science, mechatronics, robotics, or related field
- Proficient in English (written and spoken)
- Experience in preparing manuscripts for peer-reviewed journals and conferences
- Knowledge in building custom mechatronic experimental setups and prototyping
- Strong programming skills in MATLAB, Python, or similar software
- Prior experience in stimuli-responsive materials, mechanical design, advanced manufacturing, biomedical robots, or sustainability assessment is a plus
- Interest in mentoring and co-mentoring students
- Interest in establishing a new lab and organizational development
Job Description:
- Design, fabricate, model, and test active composite metamaterials
- Develop remote-controlled magnetic assemblies for surgical procedures
- Enhance life-cycle design of robotic aggregates for circular sustainability
- Create metamaterials inspired by traditional craft techniques
- Conduct human studies on physical interaction with active matter
