Job Description
As a postdoctoral researcher, you will:
- Investigate how motile E. coli bacteria interact with capillary flows in evaporating droplets.
- Explore active pattern formation driven by bacterial collective motion.
- Identify key control parameters governing self-assembly under interfacial flow influences.
- Conduct both experimental and theoretical/numerical modeling to understand underlying physical mechanisms.
- Collaborate closely with research teams at TU/e and partner institutes, including the University of Edinburgh and the Max Planck Institute for Terrestrial Microbiology in Germany.
- Contribute to the education mission of the Applied Physics department by supervising BSc and MSc research projects (limited to about 5% of your contract time).
