Research Area

The research will address dependent censoring in oncology trials, focusing on three primary objectives:

  1. Identification and assessment of dependent censoring problems in clinical trials and their resolution.
  2. Development of methods for indirect treatment comparison in the presence of dependent censoring.
  3. Development of analytical processes and the creation of software tools.

Location

The position is based at ORSTAT (Operations Research and Statistics) at KU Leuven in Leuven, Belgium.

Eligibility/Qualification

  • A completed PhD in Statistics or a closely related field.
  • A solid publication track record in statistics, preferably in survival analysis.
  • Proficiency in the R programming language or a strong willingness to develop expertise in it.
  • A keen interest in the pharmaceutical industry and applied research.
  • Experience in the pharmaceutical sector or industrial collaborations is a plus.
  • Fluent in English with excellent communication and presentation skills.

Job Description

The postdoctoral researcher will be responsible for:

  • Leading an applied research project in collaboration with MSD (Merck & Co., Inc.).
  • Identifying and addressing dependent censoring issues in clinical trials predominantly focusing on oncology.
  • Developing innovative methods and tools for analyzing survival data.
  • Actively participating in seminars, conferences, and potentially supervising master’s theses.
