Postdoctoral Researcher in Terpene Synthase: We are seeking a highly motivated postdoctoral researcher to join our team at Martin Luther University Halle-Wittenberg. This position is part of a DFG-funded project in the Collaborative Research Centre (CRC) “Plant Proteoform Diversity”. The successful candidate will investigate terpene synthases, with an emphasis on expression, secretion, and directed evolution of these enzymes.

Eligibility/Qualification:
- Completed scientific university degree in biochemistry, biology, chemistry, or a related subject with an outstanding degree.
- Completed, very good doctorate in one of the above-mentioned fields of study.
- Experience in the field of directed evolution, with experience in GC-MS and UHPLC desirable.
- Excellent knowledge of the English language.
- Strong motivation to collaborate within the CRC.
- High interest in the effects of climate on the function of terpene synthases.
- Experience in successfully writing publications in prestigious journals.
Job Description:
- Expression and secretion of Arabidopsis terpene synthases in yeast.
- Activity and secretion analysis via colorimetric/fluorescence-based assays.
- (Bio)synthesis of precursor prenyl diphosphate by chemical and biochemical methods.
- Directed evolution of terpene synthases.
- Identification of products via GC-MS and UPLC.
- Presentation and publication of scientific data.
- Supervision and guidance of PhD students.
