Eligibility/Qualification

  • An (almost) completed PhD degree in high-energy physics.
  • Strong track record in data analysis and significant experience with software in experimental particle physics.
  • Proficient in applying machine learning algorithms for data selection in particle physics.
  • Research experience in experimental particle physics is highly desirable.

Job Description

The successful candidate will focus on improving selection criteria for two-Higgs production in complex final states, particularly:

  • HH > bbbb
  • HH > bbtt decays
  • ttHH production

Key responsibilities include:

  • Coordinating the work of a cohort of PhD students focusing on di-Higgs analyses.
  • Advancing object selection, reconstruction, and analysis techniques to enhance sensitivity.
  • Employing state-of-the-art machine learning methods, including GNNs and transformer models.
  • Ensuring alignment and synergy across methodologies in relation to parallel efforts within the research team.
