Postdoctoral Researcher in Transplant Immunology: The laboratory of Dr. Elaine F. Reed at the David Geffen School of Medicine (DGSOM) at UCLA is seeking applications for a full-time postdoctoral position focused on understanding the impact of immunosuppressive medications in kidney transplant recipients.

Eligibility/Qualification:

  • Basic Qualifications:
  • A Ph.D. or M.D./Ph.D. is required.
  • Additional Qualifications:
  • Strong background in immunology, molecular, and/or cellular biology preferred.
  • Proficiency in molecular and cellular laboratory techniques, including:
    • Flow cytometry
    • Immune functional assays (e.g., intracellular cytokine secretion analysis)
    • ELISA
    • Purification and culture of primary human cells
    • Single cell RNA sequencing
  • Bioinformatics and computational skills are highly desirable.
  • Strong written and oral communication skills.
  • Must be highly motivated, independent, intellectually creative, and function well in a team environment.

Job Description:

The candidate will conduct research using a systems immunology approach to analyze transplant immunology, specifically examining how post-transplant immunosuppression affects vulnerability to infection in kidney transplant recipients. The role involves collaborative work within a diverse team of experts in immunogenetics, immunology, transplantation, infectious disease, biostatistics, and computational immunology.
