Eligibility/Qualification:
- Education:
- Bachelor’s in Biology, Biochemistry, Microbiology, or equivalent
- Master in Immunology, Microbiology, or equivalent
- PhD in Immunology, Microbiology, or equivalent
- Experience:
- Background in cellular and molecular biology
- Experience with flow cytometry, immunology, and animal models for research
- Knowledge of scientific communication and article writing
- Languages:
- Proficiency in English (required)
- Knowledge of Spanish and Catalan is a plus
Job Description:
- Engage in research activities related to syphilis vaccine development, including:
- Protein production and purification
- ELISA, Western Blot, and Flow cytometry
- Conduct immunogenicity and efficacy studies in animal models
- Write scientific publications, grants, and reports
- Present research findings at meetings and symposia
- Maintain detailed documentation of experimental work
- Communicate progress regularly with the Principal Investigator (PI)
- Supervise students in the laboratory
- Participate in IrsiCaixa’s training and outreach activities
- Stay updated on literature and advances in research related to syphilis
