Summary:

The University of Kansas is seeking two postdoctoral researchers to join the Civil, Environmental, and Architectural Engineering Department. These positions focus on assessing risk and resilience in water and wastewater infrastructure within the National Science Foundation-funded RII Track I EPSCoR project titled Adaptive and Resilient Infrastructure Driven by Social Equity (ARISE).

Eligibility/Qualification:

Required Qualifications:

  1. Ph.D. in Civil Engineering, Environmental Engineering, Computer Science, or a related field.
  2. Established research record, evidenced by publications and presentations.

Preferred Qualifications:

  1. Candidates do not need to have expertise spanning both positions.

Job Description:

  • 50%: Conduct research to enhance technical skills in water, stormwater, and wastewater infrastructure systems; participate in complex research projects under supervision.
  • 30%: Prepare technical reports, journal papers, and documentation for publication.
  • 10%: Assist in developing and submitting proposals for external funding.
  • 10%: Mentor undergraduate and graduate students.

Additional responsibilities include leveraging computational workflows for model validation and working on data collection efforts related to community resilience and contaminants of emerging concern.
