Eligibility/Qualification
Required:
- PhD in a relevant field (physics, theoretical physics, astronomy, space science, mathematics, geophysics)
- Knowledge of space physics, space weather phenomena, plasma physics, or solar system research
- Proficient computer skills
- Strong spoken and written English skills
- Willingness for international collaboration
- Published research in peer-reviewed scientific journals
Preferred:
- Programming skills (Python, C++)
- Experience with spacecraft mission observations
- Experience with plasma simulations
- Finnish language skills
Job Description
As a postdoctoral researcher, your responsibilities will include:
- Studying space weather observations from the BepiColombo mission and modeling them using numerical simulation tools.
- Developing new numerical particle modeling methods for ion and electron dynamics in magnetospheric solar wind interactions.
- Collaborating with international research teams and attending scientific conferences.
- Preparing and publishing research findings in peer-reviewed international scientific journals.
You will join a pioneering team known for over three decades of expertise in space weather modeling and participate in significant international solar system exploration missions.
