Postdoctoral Researcher – Inequality Barometer Project: The University of Konstanz’s Cluster of Excellence “The Politics of Inequality” invites applications for a postdoctoral position in the project “Inequality Barometer: A Repeated Representative Opinion Survey on Inequality and Social Mobility.” The contract is issued until 12/2025 with potential prolongation until 2032.

Eligibility/Qualification:

  • PhD in the social sciences (e.g., political science, sociology, economics)
  • Interest and experience in research on inequality
  • Advanced knowledge of survey methods and survey design
  • Ability to work constructively and effectively in a research team
  • Excellent English writing and communication skills
  • Experience and/or willingness to contribute to science communication

Job Description: The successful applicant will be a member of the project team, contributing to research on how subjective perceptions and normative evaluations of inequality and social mobility are formed. The role involves using survey and experimental designs to study policy preferences. The candidate is encouraged to develop an independent research agenda within the project.
