Job Description

The successful candidate will lead experimental research aimed at determining the mechanisms by which malaria parasites manipulate the immune system and the countermeasures employed by the host. The position involves collaborative work with biologists and bioinformaticians and requires active participation in manuscript preparation and mentorship of graduate students. Specific responsibilities include:

  • Investigating parasitic manipulation mechanisms using biochemistry, transcriptomics, proteomics, and cell biology techniques.
  • Collaborating with a multidisciplinary team to advance the research.
  • Preparing and publishing high-quality manuscripts.
  • Providing mentorship to PhD students.

Eligibility/Qualification

Required Qualifications:

  • PhD in Immunology, Molecular Biology, Parasitology, or a related field.
  • Proven ability to lead independent research.
  • Experience in data-driven research and a willingness to collaborate with computational biologists.
  • Excellent problem-solving skills, and the ability to work both independently and as part of a team.
  • Strong written and verbal communication skills in English.
  • Commitment to diversity, equity, and inclusion.

Desirable Qualifications:

  • Experience in malaria research.
  • Familiarity with protein-protein interactions, single-cell transcriptomics, and cytometry.
  • Knowledge of data analysis methods for single-cell transcriptomics and proteomics.
