Postdoctoral Researcher – Medicinal Chemistry: The research team “Drugs and Molecules for Living Systems,” affiliated with INSERM U1177, the Institut Pasteur de Lille, and the University of Lille, specializes in drug discovery, medicinal chemistry, screening, and pharmacokinetics. We are excited to offer a 12-month (renewable) postdoctoral position within the group of Pr. Rebecca Deprez-Poulain. The selected candidate will be recruited by the Institut Pasteur de Lille, thanks to a Resistomics (CPER) grant, and will work in a dynamic laboratory that unites chemists and biologists to design novel drugs in a stimulating environment.

Eligibility/Qualification: The successful candidate should possess the following qualifications and experience:

  • Experience in multi-step synthesis of bioactive compounds.
  • Proficiency in multiparametric optimization and the interpretation of biological and ADME results (Structure-Activity Relationship – SAR).
  • Familiarity with modern analytical instrumentation, including NMR-spectra (1D and 2D) and Mass-spectrometry.
  • Knowledge of specialized software and databases, such as ELNs, Biovia Draw or Chem Draw, Reaxys or SciFinder, Pubmed, MOE, and/or Pymol would be advantageous.
  • Excellent command of Excel, Word, PowerPoint.
  • Strong publication writing skills.
  • Proficiency in both oral and written English.

Job Description: The primary responsibilities of the Postdoctoral Researcher will include:

  • Design and synthesis of bioactive compounds.
  • Multiparametric optimization and interpretation of biological and ADME results, contributing to Structure-Activity Relationship (SAR) studies.
  • Documentation tasks, including Electronic Lab Notebook (ELN) maintenance, protocol creation, and reagent ordering.
  • Preparation and writing of research publications, posters, and oral communications.
  • Active participation in shared laboratory tasks.
  • Mentoring and supervising students.
