Job Description:
The Postdoctoral Researcher will primarily engage in complex organic synthesis, with a focus on designing and synthesizing PROTACs. The candidate will conduct detailed literature reviews, plan and execute multi-step reaction sequences, analyze spectroscopic data, present findings in meetings and conferences, write grant proposals and publications, and supervise students/technicians. Additionally, biological characterization of synthesized compounds will be conducted in collaboration with DKFZ’s expert department.
Requirements:
- PhD or equivalent experience in synthetic organic chemistry
- Proficiency in mg or multi-gram scale synthesis
- Experience in retrosynthetic analysis, Schlenk technique, and purification methods
- Competency in analyzing NMR and MS spectroscopic data
- Additional experience in biochemistry and chemical biology is desirable
- Excellent verbal and written communication skills in English
