Postdoctoral Researcher on Advanced 3D Imaging: The CPA Lab at Bioengineering in Regeneration and Cancer, based at Biodonostia Health Research Institute in San Sebastián, Spain, is looking for a postdoctoral researcher. The position is part of the European Research Council Consolidator Grant – DORMATRIX project. The research focuses on understanding how physical and chemical properties of native extracellular matrices and cells influence regeneration and cancer dormancy using biomaterial-based dormancy-on-a-chip devices.

Eligibility/Qualification:

  • PhD in Bioengineering, Biophysics, Biology, Biomedical Engineering, Computer Science, or a similar field.
  • Relevant experience in advanced 3D imaging, particularly with light-sheet fluorescence microscopy (LSFM).
  • Previous experience in biomechanical and cell biology oncology is an asset.
  • Ability to conduct independent research and collaborate with various teams.
  • Strong collaboration skills and motivation to work in an international and interdisciplinary environment.
  • Excellent organizational skills, project management, and research generation capabilities.
  • Strong eagerness for scientific innovation and creative thinking.
  • Good written and oral communication skills in English (Spanish is not required).

Job Description:

  • Develop advanced 3D imaging workflows, primarily using light-sheet fluorescence microscopy (LSFM).
  • Carry out 3D imaging of soft structures and living systems.
  • Combine LSFM with high-resolution 3D computed tomography.
  • Optimize sample preparation protocols for maintaining 3D bioengineered systems and biological samples from in vitro models.
  • Maintain active participation in the research community, including collaboration with partners at the Max Planck Queensland Center.
  • Participate in regular meetings, conferences, and larger consortium events.
