Postdoctoral Researcher on Van der Waals Heterostructures: The Catalan Institute of Nanoscience and Nanotechnology (ICN2) is seeking a highly motivated Postdoctoral Researcher to join our Physics and Engineering of Nanodevices Group. This role focuses on advancing quantum transduction technologies by exploring the interplay between light and spin in van der Waals heterostructures. Eligibility/Qualification:

  • Education: PhD in Physics, Materials Science, Electrical Engineering, or a related field.
  • Knowledge:
  • Experience with low-temperature and high-frequency experiments.
  • Familiarity with manipulation of 2D materials, spintronics, and/or excitons in transition metal dichalcogenides will be highly valued.
  • Competences: Proficiency in English.

Job Description:
The postdoctoral researcher will be responsible for:

  • Adapting experimental equipment for quantum devices.
  • Designing and preparing light-to-spin conversion devices using ICN2’s nanofabrication facilities.
  • Conducting optical and transport measurements at cryogenic temperatures.
  • Collaborating with colleagues in the ICN2 theoretical group led by Stephan Roche on projects related to quantum information transfer.
