Postdoctoral Researcher – Optoelectronics: ICFO is offering up to two postdoctoral positions for highly motivated researchers to work on the development of low-cost, CMOS-compatible intersubband optoelectronic devices (photodetectors and light emitters) in the mid-wave infrared (MWIR) and long-wave infrared (LWIR) spectrum using colloidal quantum dot technology.

Location: ICFO – The Institute of Photonic Sciences, Spain
Eligibility/Qualification:
- Ph.D. (or nearing completion) in Material Science, Physics, or Electrical Engineering.
- Expertise in the fabrication, characterization, and optimization of optoelectronic devices based on intersubband transitions.
- Strong background in quantum-confined material physics and device physics.
- Proficiency in optical and electronic characterization setups for MWIR and LWIR.
- Experience in charge transport studies, low-noise techniques, and optical instrumentation in MWIR/LWIR is a plus.
- Experience in colloidal quantum dot optoelectronics is advantageous but not required.
Job Description:
- Develop high-performance, CMOS-compatible infrared colloidal quantum dot photodetectors and light emitters.
- Engineer colloidal quantum dot films at atomic and supra-nanocrystalline levels.
- Focus on applications including safety and security, remote sensing, environmental monitoring, and thermal imaging.
- Conduct hands-on fabrication, characterization, and optimization of optoelectronic devices.
- Work in a dynamic and collaborative research environment under the leadership of Prof. Gerasimos Konstantatos.
