Postdoctoral Researcher or Research Scientist: Join the Cognitive Somnology RIKEN Hakubi Research Team at the Center for Brain Science in conducting cutting-edge research on the role of the sleeping brain in human cognition and behavior. We are seeking highly motivated candidates with a background in engineering, mathematical science, computer science, biology, medical science, or other interdisciplinary fields to contribute to our neuroimaging studies on sleep, learning, cognition, insight, dreams, and more.

Eligibility/Qualification:
- Hold a Ph.D. or expect to receive a Ph.D. before the date of employment
- Research experience and publications in a relevant field
- Proficiency in a programming language (e.g., Matlab, R, Python)
- Highly motivated and interested in the team’s research topics
- Proactive with good communication skills and the ability to collaborate effectively
Job Description: The selected candidate will:
- Conduct research on human brain activities during sleep using various neuroimaging techniques, including functional MRI, MRS, and simultaneous MRI and EEG methods
- Develop cutting-edge neuroimaging techniques, leveraging the newly installed 7T MRI at RIKEN
- Contribute to the lab’s research themes on human sleep, brain, and cognition
- Carry out related work and collaborate with the team
