Eligibility/Qualification
- Recent PhD or expected completion of PhD in developmental biology, preferably with a focus on neuroscience.
- Proficiency in English for effective communication within the research team and beyond.
Job Description
The successful candidate will be involved in:
- Investigating the role of active mechanical forces in brain development using bioengineered organoid models.
- Developing new ways to manipulate and measure mechanical forces during organoid development.
- Collaborating with multidisciplinary teams to explore unconventional modes of regulation of morphogenesis.
- Utilizing advanced techniques, including artificial extracellular matrices, microfluidic devices, optogenetics, and spatial transcriptomics.
- Engaging in projects funded by the Allen Institute and FWO aimed at understanding stem cell fate decisions and tissue-scale morphogenesis.
