Postdoctoral Researcher Position: The Laboratory of Bioengineering and Morphogenesis at KU Leuven is seeking a highly motivated postdoctoral researcher to study mechanobiology in bioengineered neurodevelopment. Eligibility/Qualification

  • Recent PhD or expected completion of PhD in developmental biology, preferably with a focus on neuroscience.
  • Proficiency in English for effective communication within the research team and beyond.

Job Description

The successful candidate will be involved in:

  • Investigating the role of active mechanical forces in brain development using bioengineered organoid models.
  • Developing new ways to manipulate and measure mechanical forces during organoid development.
  • Collaborating with multidisciplinary teams to explore unconventional modes of regulation of morphogenesis.
  • Utilizing advanced techniques, including artificial extracellular matrices, microfluidic devices, optogenetics, and spatial transcriptomics.
  • Engaging in projects funded by the Allen Institute and FWO aimed at understanding stem cell fate decisions and tissue-scale morphogenesis.
