Postdoctoral Researcher Position Available at UTHealth: Multiple research projects are available for GRA and Postdoctoral researchers at the University of Texas Health Science Center at Houston (UTHealth) with various faculty members. The positions are available through joint laboratories funded by multiple agencies and will be filled on a regular basis.

  • Designation: Postdoctoral Researcher
  • Research Area: Statistical Genetics, Federated Machine Learning, Single cell biology, Cancer Biology,
    Brain Control of Metabolism, Feeding and Related Behaviors, Analysis of Next-Generation Sequencing Data in Infectious Diseases and Genomics.
  • Location: University of Texas Health Science Center at Houston, Houston, TX 77030
  • Eligibility/Qualification:
  • PhD in a relevant field (biology, genetics, neuroscience, etc.)
  • Established coding skills preferably in R/Python/C/C++
  • Understanding of statistical concepts and/or machine learning concepts
  • Ability to use a development environment in Linux/Jupyter or similar platforms
  • Excellent written communication skills
  • Job Description:
  • Integrate into a highly collaborative and dynamic research team consisting of multiple laboratories
  • Perform exploratory analysis and build hypotheses
  • Develop cutting edge statistical/ML tools for solving problems
  • Written and oral communication of results, manuscript drafting, and building presentations for weekly meetings and for disseminating results
